During this archived one-hour webinar, you will learn about vaccination recommendations for infants, children and pregnant women; key messages regarding the immunization schedule, vaccines and vaccine safety; and you will receive an overview on how to review a child’s immunization record to determine up-to-date status of your WIC clients.
Opening remarks are presented by Jennifer Zavolinsky, Director, Outreach Initiatives, Every Child By Two; Rev. Douglas Greenaway, President and CEO, National WIC Association (NWA); and Anne Bartholomew, Branch Chief, Nutrition Services, Supplemental Food Programs Division, Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, USDA Food and Nutrition Service. The main presenter for this webinar is Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Director, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Accompanying the webinar is the Vaccines 101: Information for WIC Staff booklet. The booklet, which was updated in 2017, can also be used as a stand-alone educational piece.
